How to use on iPhone

1 - Choose an Image

You can import a photo to the Metadata app from your Photo Library or from iCloud Drive. You can also import an image using drag and drop on the iPad.

The photos that you open in the Metadata app stay on device and are not saved or uploaded to the cloud by the Metadata app. All data shown in the app is processed on device.

2 - View Image Data

Once you choose a photo, the app will automatically scroll to show you the image size data. This includes the size of the image in pixels, the image DPI and the image file size.

3 - View Location Data

You can view the location data* for the image by swiping from right to left anywhere on the screen. The location card can then be scrolled vertically to show more information including a map and address of where the image was taken, the date and time it was taken and the altitude that the photo was taken at.

* Location data is sometimes not availabe for all images imported in to the app. All data shown is from the image metadata and it can not be guaranteed that this information is accurate as it may have been edited before importing in to the app.

4 - View Device Data

You can view the device data* for the image by swiping from right to left anywhere on the screen. The device data card shows the make, model and software version of the camera that was used to take the photo.

5 - Share Image Data

You can export or share the image data* by pressing the share arrow icon in top right corner. This will create text that can be used in messages, notes, email or using another sevice. It includes the data that is shown within the app about the image that you are currently viewing in the app.

6 - Choose Another Image

You can choose another image by swiping from left to right, until you get back to the first 'Choose Image' screen. You can then import another photo from your Camera Roll or iCloud Drive.
