Create a Grid
Split one photo into a grid of tiles and post them to your Instagram profile so they line up into a single eye-catching image.
Instructions
1 - Choose your photo
Open InstantGrid and choose the photo you would like to split, either from Photos or from Files. A wide, high resolution photo will give you the best result once it's split into tiles.
2 - Choose Square or Portrait
At the top of the editor, switch between square and portrait aspect ratios. This matches the two ways Instagram displays photos in your feed and on your profile grid — Square posts as a 1:1 tile, while Portrait posts as a taller 4:5 tile that takes up more space in the feed.
3 - Set your grid size
Use the Columns and Rows controls at the bottom of the screen to choose how many tiles to split your photo into.
Make sure the panorama icon in the top-right corner is switched off — that toggles InstantGrid into Panorama Mode instead of Grid Mode.
4 - Position your photo
Drag and pinch your photo to move and zoom it until you're happy with how it lines up across the grid.
5 - Export your grid
Tap 'Export' and InstantGrid will save each tile as a separate photo to your Photos library, ready to upload.
6 - Post your tiles to Instagram
Open Instagram and create a new post for each tile, uploading them as separate posts rather than one carousel post.
Important: Instagram shows your newest post first, at the top left of your profile grid. To make your tiles line up correctly, post them in reverse order — starting with the bottom-right tile and finishing with the top-left tile, which should be the last one you post.
